Man wearing a gold mask (@ANI/Twitter)
A resident of Pune's Pimpri-Chinchwad has made a gold mask for himself worth Rs 2.89 lakhs which he seeks to wear amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
The man identified as Shankar Kurade has claimed that the gold mask contains tiny pores to allow him to breath properly. While the prime objective of the mask is to protect him from a possible Covid-19 infection, Kurade says that he is not sure about its effectiveness.
Incidentally Kurade is not the only individual to envisage an ornament out a mask. A few days ago a Belgavi jeweller rolled out silver masks priced at Rs 3,500 for wedding guests. That business is said to be booming.
