The election commission of Punjab has written to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) objecting to the 'Dalit manifesto' that was unveiled in the presence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on 25 November. The commission has asked AAP for two copies of the manifesto.
Kejriwal has promised the post of deputy chief minister to a Dalit, triggering criticism from many quarters who asked why his party could not make a Dalit the chief minister. The AAP has also promised a lot of sops to Dalits, including houses and scholarships.
