The System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR) has predicted relatively cleaner post-Diwali air in the national capital and adjoining regions due to favourable meteorological conditions, PTI has reported.
According to SAFAR, favourable meteorological conditions prevailing in the region are helping prevent smoke-filled air from the agricultural belt of Haryana and Punjab from entering the national capital.
Smoke-filled air from the agricultural belt of Haryana and Punjab, produced when farmers burn agricultural residue and waste in their fields, is the main cause of air pollution in Delhi and adjoining areas during this time of the year.

The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
