The premium postpaid and prepaid plans of Reliance Jio are the priced at least 1.5 or 2 times less to those of rivals Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea, The Economic Times Telecom reports.
“Our analysis of more than 100 mobile tariff plans across Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea reveals incumbents’ 1.5-2x premium in postpaid and 15-30 per cent premium in prepaid offers vs RJio,” said a report from CLSA.
The report notes that Reliance Jio’s cheapest postpaid offerings start at the Rs 199 plan, which bundles 25 GB data along with unlimited voice calling. On the other hand, Bharti Airtel’s attempt to increase their Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) means that their postpaid start from Rs 499 and go upto Rs 1,599.
While there is a cheaper Rs 399 monthly plan rental, it is limited to select circles. Recently merged and market leader Vodafone Idea offers similarly priced plans to Airtel. However, Vodafone Idea subscribers can avail the Rs 399 plan which bundles 30 GB data along with unlimited calls and other benefits.
Bharti Airtel leads the way when it comes to additional offerings, the Telecom Talk reports. Their subscribers can avail the best content and other benefits with a three month Netflix subscription, a year-long subscription of Amazon Prime and ZEE5. Vodafone Idea subscribers can only avail Amazon Prime and Zee5.
