In a media briefing held in Kolkata on Thursday (17 October), the newly elected BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly said that the cricketing ties among the two countries are subject to approval from the Prime Ministers of both the countries, reported Indian Express.

Ganguly added, “Of course we have (to take permission), because international exposure (tours) is all through governments. So we don’t have an answer to that question.”

India and Pakistan last played a bilateral series in 2012, when India hosted Pakistan for two T20Is and three ODIs.

Earlier in 2019, demonstrating a strong reaction against Pulwama attacks, BCCI had asked ICC to sever ties with countries from where terrorism emanates.
