A Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) worker, identified as 20-year-old Vadekkethala Anandan, was lynched in Kerala’s Thrissur district on Sunday allegedly by Communist Party of India (Marxist) workers, Firstpost has reported.
Anand was brutally attacked after assailants rammed their vehicle on his bike, causing him to fall on the road. He was pronounced dead while he was being taken to a hospital, Manorama Online reported.
Anand, according to the daily’s report, was one of the accused in the murder of CPI(M) worker Fazil four years ago and was out on bail.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has accused the ruling the CPI(M) workers of killing Anand. “LeftistTerror bloodshed continues in Kerala. BJP Karyakartha Anand murdered brutally in Guruvayur, Thrissur. Communist terror surging in the state with Jungle Raj in Kerala to aid,” BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekharan said.
Ever since the Left Democratic Front government came to power in Kerala, the state has witnessed a spate of political murders. In Kannur, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's constituency, killing of 42 workers affiliated to the BJP-RSS has been documented. In most cases, assailants were found to be associated with the CPI (M).
