A special National Investigation Agency (NIA) court on Friday, 9 April, sent suspended Assistant Police Inspector (API) Sachin Waze to judicial custody till 23 April reports Times Now.
He was produced in the court as his remand was ending today. Waze was arrested on 13 March.
"Waze was planning another big act after explosive planting near Antilia in Mumbai. We (NIA) are confirming if Pradeep Sharma provided logistics support. Param Bir Singh's statement has been recorded as a witness not as a suspect", news agency ANI tweeted, quoting NIA sources.
Waze is also being investigated for the alleged murder of businessman Mansukh Hiren.
NIA questioned Sharma on Wednesday (7 April), after Waze told NIA that former police officer and Shivsena leader Sharma had helped him procure gelatin sticks that were found in an SUV parked near Antilia.
Sharma had contested the 2019 Assembly elections on Shivsena ticket from Nallasopara constituency of Palghar district.
In a different development, A Special NIA Court in Mumbai allowed CBI access to the documents with NIA for CBI's preliminary inquiry against Anil Deshmukh, former Home Minister in Maharashtra Government.
