Taking a jibe at Pakistani prime minister Imran Khan’s 'Naya Pakistan' with a 'Nayi Soch', India said that the claim would only be valid if the Islamic republic takes 'Naya action' against terrorism, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Raveesh Kumar was quoted saying by Indian Express.

He said that Pakistan did not take any serious steps against terrorism to address the concerns of India and the international community.

“If Pakistan claims to be Naya Pak with nayi soch, it should demonstrate Naya action against terrorist groups and terror infrastructure on its soil and end cross-border terrorism,” he said

“We are seeing the same script that has been played out earlier, after the terror attack on Parliament in 2001, the Mumbai attack in 2008 and the attack on Pathankot airbase in 2016. Pakistan claims to proscribe groups and individuals, but this is confined only to paper. Terror groups and individuals continue their activities without hindrance.” he added, reacting to a report on Jaish-e-Mohammad chief Masood Azhar’s presence in Islamabad.

India also reportedly plans to ask the United States whether the use of F-16 fighter aircraft by Pakistan was according to the terms and conditions of the sale. During the dog fight between the neighbouring nations post-Pulwama attack, Pakistani F-16 was shot down. Indian Air Force has officially credited Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman for shooting down the jet intruding in Indian airspace.
