SC Turmoil: Won’t Intervene, Judiciary Will Sort Out Matter Itself, Says Government

Indicating that it will not interfere in the issue raised by four dissenting judges of the Supreme Court in a press conference earlier today, the government has said that the judiciary would resolve the matter itself, the Times of India has reported.
Minister of State for Law P P Chaudhary, addressing the media on the issue, has said, "Our judiciary is reputed all over the world, is independent and will sort out the matter itself”. According to the report, the government is unwilling to interfere as the issue raised by the judges is an internal matter of the judiciary.
Chief Justice of India (CJI) Dipak Misra met Attorney General K K Venugopal in the evening, and the latter has said that the differences will be resolved by tomorrow, India Today has reported.
In an unprecedented move, Justice Chelameswar of the apex court attacked the CJI in a press conference earlier today saying the administration of the court is "sometimes not in order" and many "less than desirable things" have taken place. Other sitting judges who participated in the press conference include Justice Ranjan Gogoi, Justice Madan B Lokur and Justice Kurien Joseph, who rank third, fourth and fifth in the order of seniority, respectively.
Justice Chelameswar met Communist Party of India leader and Rajya Sabha member D Raja soon after the press conference, Republic TV has reported.
