Amid intelligence reports of how several terrorists are camping near the India-Pakistan border and the Line of Control to infiltrate and target pilgrims during Amarnath Yatra, the Border Security Force (BSF) has drafted in a team of deadly snipers to take on Pakistani soldiers, who provide cover to terrorists trying to infiltrate into the Indian territory, Zee News has reported.
This comes after the rising incidents of snipers of Pakistani Army and the Rangers targeting BSF personnel.
The BSF snipers, trained at Central School of Weapon and Tactics in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, are no ordinary soldiers for just one out 100 trainees are selected, and thereby trained as a sniper.
According to the report, the snipers are trained so well that many a time they enter the enemy territory and go undetected from both the Pakistani troops as well as terrorists. These soldiers, who follow the one-bullet-one-target rule of sniping, will not only take down terrorists trying to infiltrate into Jammu and Kashmir, but also Pakistani snipers trying to target the BSF.
Recently, BSF sub-inspector S N Yadav and constable V Pandey, who were guarding the border area near Sundarbani, were killed by Pakistani Army snipers. With the Amarnath Yatra set to commence on 28 June, the BSF is not leaving anything to chance, and is geared up to deter any Pakistani adventurism.
