Senior Congress Leader Digvijaya Singh While Motivating People To Cast Their Votes Fails To Do So Himself

Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and current candidate of Congress from Bhopal Digvijaya Singh, on Sunday (12 May) expressed his disappointment as he failed to cast his vote, reports Hindustan Times.

The Bhopal seat from where Singh is contesting has never been won by Congress since 1984, Singh’s rival candidate in Bhopal is Pragya Singh Thakur from BJP.

“Yes I couldn’t go to vote to Rajgarh and I regret it. Next time I will register my name in Bhopal,” commented Digvijaya Singh.

The Congress leader hails from Raoghogarh from Rajgarh. The place is about 136 km away from Bhopal. Rajgarh and Bhopal both went to polling on the same day, Sunday (12 May).

Singh was seen in various party booths of Bhopal where he was motivating party workers to ensure that more and more people turn up at polling stations to cast their votes.

Singh when questioned by the media on whether he would cast his vote or not, at around afternoon, said that “I will try to reach.”

He was not able to make it to Rajgarh, when asked in the evening he replied, “I didn’t vote but I ensured there is more polling”.

His wife, Amrita Rai voted in Bhopal. Digvijay also said that from next time he shall register from Bhopal as well.
