Shahid Afridi Reveals Real Age, Says Was 19 And Not 16 Years Old During Record Breaking 37-Ball Hundred

Former Pakistan cricket captain Shahid Afridi has finally revealed that he was born in 1975 and not in 1980 as per official records and thus ending the mystery around his age, The Times of India reports.
The big revelation comes in his autobiography 'Game Changer' and would mean that the Pakistani all-rounder was not 16 years when he broke records with his 37-ball century against Sri Lanka in Nairobi in 1996.
"I was just nineteen, and not sixteen like they claim. I was born in 1975. So yes, the authorities stated my age incorrectly," Afridi writes in his autobiography,which hit bookstores on 30 April.
While Afridi's statement in his book confirms he was not 16 years old during the innings, is confusing as he was supposed to be either 20 or 21 years old and not 19, if he was born in 1975.
Afridi, also known as 'Boom Boom Afridi', has played 27 Tests, 398 ODIs and 99 T20 Internationals and called it time on his international career after the 2016 World T20 held in India.
