The Chennai-Mysuru Shatabdi express will clock a new high when it will cover the Mysuru-Bengaluru stretch within 2 hours from 1 July, The Times of India reports.
The train which celebrated 25 years of its launch recently, will reach Bengaluru in 1 hour 55 minutes under the revised timings.“The train will leave Mysuru Junction at 2:15 pm and reach the KSR Bengaluru at 4:10 pm,”said an official of the South Western Railway (SWR).
The other trains that will an increased speed and see time reduced are the Chennai-Mysuru weekly superfast express (10 minutes); The Hubballi-Bengaluru-Mysuru Vishwamanava Express (15 minutes), and the the newly introduced Karcheguda Express that will take 15 minutes lesser to cover the Bengaluru-Mysuru stretch.
The SWR Public Relations Officer E Vijaya said that the travelling time has come down due to track doubling and electrification, among various measures. The new time table of the SWR will be out on 1 July.
