Kashmiri activist Shehla Rashid has been accused by her father of accepting Rs 3 crore from individuals under investigation for terror financing to join the political party which was floated by IAS turned politician Shah Faesal, Times of India has reported.

Abdul Rashid Shora the father of Shehla Rashid alleged that the Rs 3 crore amount was first offered to Shehla in June 2017 by businessman Zahoor Watali and former MLA Engineer Rashid. Both Watali and Rashid were arrested two months later in connection with a terror funding case.

Shora claims that the duo asked him to make his daughter join the Jammu and Kashmir People's Movement which was going to be launched by UPSC topper and IAS officer Shah Faesal.

"Despite my resistance, I found my wife Zubaida Shora and my elder daughter Asma supportive of Shehla and becoming party to this deal along with a boy named Sakib Ahmad from Srinagar downtown, who was introduced to me as Shehla’s pistol-carrying personal security guard", Shohra has been quoted as saying.

He then goes on to allege that Shehla threatened him to not disclose the details of the deal to anyone. He also also claimed that his life is now in danger.

The party was subsequently launched by Faesal in May 2019 which was joined by Shehla. Both have now quit the party as well as politics.

Shehla in response has termed her father's allegations to be baseless and accused him to be a "wife-beater and an abusive, depraved man". She has alleged that he has been violent and abusive towards her, her mother and sister for a long time against which they have filed a complaint. She adds that his statements are a result of this domestic violence complaint and a restraining order barring him from entering their home.
