Brahmacharya is the flavour of the season, at least for a group of foreigners who came in from far off lands to the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, and took the vow of celibacy in dedication to a life of dharma and spirituality, reports Times of India.

Take for example, Veronique, a Canadian, who tonsured her head and took deeksha from her spiritual mentor. After receiving the mantra for initiation, she took the vow of celibacy and spiritual living. Veronique was among 82 foreigners who came to the Kumbh Mela for deeksha at the camp of Shaktidham at sector 14 of the Kumbh Mela grounds. The group comprised 79 Japanese and one each from USA, Ireland and Canada.

Shaktidham’s Jagadguru Sai Maa administered the oath to the seekers.

One of them said that they were highly impressed by the Indic way of life and that is why they chose to adopt Sanatan Dharma. The main aim of this exercise, said the members, was to achieve ‘Brahmagyaan’.
