Israel’s Iron Dome system intercepting rockets.
Amid the ongoing clashes between Israel and the Palestinian terrorist outfit Hamas, six shells fired from Lebanon towards northern Israel ended up falling in Lenabese territory itself.
Sharing the development, the Israeli military also added that responding to the firing of shells towards Northern Israel, it also fired artillery at the “sources of the launches” in Lebanon.
It should be noted that following shells being fired from Lebanon, Israeli air raid sirens began to blare near the kibbutz of Misgav Am which lies along Israel's northern border with Lebanon, reports Reuters.
The report also quoted a source from the Lebanese security establishment who shared that the shells were heard being fired from Southern Lebanon and that efforts were being made to identify the location.
The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon also said it had detected rocket fire from around Rashaya Al Foukhar in Southern Lebanon. Taking to Twitter, it also said that its head was in touch with counterparts in the Lebanese army and Israel Defence Forces (IDF) commands urging the parties to exercise maximum restraint to prevent any escalation of the situation.
The tweet added that the IDF has now stopped the fire and that the situation in the area is now calm.
