Soil from 2,578 places of historical significance has been collected for the auspicious Bhoomi Pujan ceremony of the grand temple of Lord Ram in Ayodhya, reports Times of India.
The development was made public by Vishwa Hindu Parishad's regional secretary for Uttar Pradesh (UP) East, Ambrish. He also shared that places from which soil has been collected include the birthplace of Ambedkar, samadhi of Kabir and the meditation site of Deoraha Baba among thousand others.
Other places from where devotees have collected soil samples include valiant freedom fighter Rani Laxmi Bai's Jhansi, revered 16th-century spiritual leader Ravidas's Varanasi, Madurai and Kamakhya temples, and Varadharaja Perumal temple, Ekambaranathar temple and Kamakshi Amman temple in Tamil Nadu among several others.
The soil amassed from all these places have been stored in pots and cans at Karsevakpuram where the temple's workshop is located.
The grand ceremony will be held tomorrow in presence of Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi, following which the construction of the temple will begin in full swing.
