L&T Construction has emerged as the lowest bidder with a proposal of Rs 3337.60 crore. This 125 km long railway line with complex geological challenges is being executed by state-owned Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd.

And more than 84% of this railway project consists of tunnels and bridges. The project is slated to be completed within five years and the overall components of work include the construction of tunnels, construction shaft and other ancillary works.

A 15.1 km tunnel including a 240 meter embankment for Devprayag station and a 300 meter embankment at Janasu along with a minor bridge are also involved in the initiative.
