India’s low cost airline SpiceJet has followed the Civil Aviation Ministry advisory and banned controversial ‘comedian’ Kunal Kamra from availing its services until further notice.
The controversy began after Kamra uploaded a video of him harassing Arnab Goswami mid-air on an IndiGo Mumbai to Lucknow flight. He is also said to have abused and threatened the senior journalist.
After taking cognizance of Kamra’s behaviour IndiGo suspended him from the airline for a period of six months. This was followed by the Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri advising other airlines to do the same.
Kamra though attempted to put up a brave face by trying to troll IRCTC by claiming that their website was offline, in an attempt to crack a joke that henceforth he would only have to travel by train in the near future.
IRCTC though refused to take Kamra’s trolling lying down and informed him that its booking service remains offline everyday from 11.45 PM to 12.20 AM for system maintenance and upgrade. It enlightened Kamra over the fact that it is not a new phenomenon and is a routine practice for a few years now.
Till now Kamra has been suspended from flying by IndiGo, Air India and SpiceJet, people expect that Vistara, Air Asia and GoAir may follow suit.
