Srinagar: Elderly Jeweller Satpal Nischal Who Recently Got Domicile Certificate, Shot Dead By Terrorists

Pakistan backed terror outfit The Resistance Front (TRF) shot dead a Srinagar based 70-years-old jeweller from Punjab who had recently received a domicile certificate after having lived in the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) for four decades, reports Times of India.
The terrorists were motorcycle-borne and the attack took place in Srinagar's conjusted Sarai Bala locality on Thursday (31 December).
Claiming responsibility of the attack in a statement shared over Facebook, TRF has asserted that the new domicile law was 'unacceptable' and that it would treat all other than the indigenous Kashmiris who acquire property in J&K as 'occupiers'. The terror outfit went on to assert, "More to come."
The victim, Satpal Nischal hailed from Amritsar and is the first domicile certificate holder to have been targeted by the terrorists. He suffered three gunshots on his chest and was declared dead on his arrival at the city's SMHS Hospital. He is survived by two sons and a daughter.
Nischal had received his domicile certificate only months ago, after which he had bought a shop at Hanuman Mandir which is located in the heart of Srinagar. He had also bought a house at Indira Nagar near the Indian Army's headquarters in Badami Bagh.
