Mohsin Raza, Minister of State for Information Technology, said that the facility would help budding entrepreneurs give shape to their business ideas, along with marketing and mentoring support.
The minister said that the facility was meant to give job creation a major push.
He claimed that of the around 5,000 start-ups operating in the country, almost 1,000 were based out of Noida-Greater Noida region. He also said that IT parks would be developed in Agra, Meerut, Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Varanasi and Bareilly among other places.
Additional secretary to the government, Alok Sinha, said that there were no budgetary constraints for the project, but the government was scouting around for the right partner for its implementation.
Earlier, the UP government had announced Rs 10 billion to promote start-ups across the state.
To give the project a boost, the government will tie up with reputed institutions in UP such as Indian Institute of Management (Lucknow), Indian Institute of Technology (Kanpur), and Banaras Hindu University, among others.
