Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday (28 September) inaugurated the Army exhibition Parakram Parv at the Jodhpur Military Station to mark the second anniversary of surgical strike on Pakistan.
The Prime Minister was visiting Jodhpur to participate in the Combined Commanders’ Conference. The government is celebrating the second anniversary of the surgical strikes when the Indian Army crossed the Line of Control (LoC) to destroy terrorists’ launchpads across the border.
Parakram Parv is being celebrated from 28 September to 30 September to celebrate the courage, valour and sacrifice of the armed forces. While the main event is being planned in New Delhi, 53 other locations in 51 cities across the country would also be hosting events to commemorate the bravery of the armed forces.
The Prime Minister was received in the city by the Chief Minister of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and the three service chiefs and also accorded a ‘guard of honour’ at the airport. The Prime Minister also paid his respects at the Konark War Memorial by laying a wreath.
