Sushma Demands ‘Nyaya’ From ‘Naya Pakistan’, Asks Country To Immediately Return Abducted Hindu Sisters To Their Family

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Tuesday (26 March) called upon Pakistan to ensure the return of two abducted minor Hindu girls, who have been forcibly converted and married off to older Muslim men, to their family, reports Business Standard.
"Forced conversion of Hindu girls in Pakistan: The age of the girls is not disputed. Raveena is only 13 and Reena is 15 years old. Even the Prime Minister of Naya Pakistan will not believe that girls of this tender age can voluntarily decide about their conversion to another religion and marriage," Swaraj tweeted.
"Justice demands that both these girls should be restored to their family immediately," the minister added.
Police in Pakistan on Monday (25 March) arrested at least seven people, among them a ‘nikah khwan’ (marriage officiator), who are suspects in the case.
Members of civil society had also demonstrated outside the Karachi Press Club on Sunday to protest against the incident.
Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan had on the same day ordered an ‘immediate’ investigation into the matter. India had then communicated its concerns over the matter through an official note sent to the Pakistan Foreign Office.
