In a big push towards e-mobility in India, Tata Motors is aiming to launch 10 new battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) by 2025 and will also set up charging infrastructure for the same across the country.

Tata Motors has sold as many as 4,000 electric version of its compact SUV Nexon and the company expects the share of EVs in its sales to increase rapidly in coming years.

Further, the automaker is also exploring partnerships in India as well as Europe to secure battery supplies for its EVs, reports Economic Times.

"By 2025, Tata Motors will have 10 new BEV vehicles, and as a Group, we will invest proactively to set up charging infrastructure across the country. In addition, the Tata Group is actively exploring partnerships in cell and battery manufacturing in India and Europe to secure our supplies of batteries," said N Chandrasekaran, chairman of Tata Motors, in his address to the shareholders in the 76th Annual Report.

In addition, the company is also evaluating an automotive software and engineering vertical within the Group to address the future disruptions of autonomous, connected and shared mobility.
