India’s leading DTH operator Tata Sky has made changes to its channel catalogue by removing three defunct channels and updating names of seven existing ones, Dream DTH has reported.
This process was put into effect by Tata Sky effective 5 September. Under this reshuffle, defunct news channels namely Tiranga TV, BTVI and Samachar Plus and seven new channels have been added.
Tata Sky has also updated names of seven channels out of which one is a news channel and six others pertain to telemarketing.
It was recently reported that Tata Sky had also upgraded its video compression system which would help it save bandwidth and allow it to add new channels in the future.
It will also help Tata Sky better utilise its current resources. The upgrade though is not expected to result in any changes in picture, audio or signal quality.
Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
