Tata Sky customers are likely to experience service interruptions as the DTH operator is upgrading its video compression system, Dream DTH has reported.
As per notification from Tata Sky this upgradation would take place on 21 and 22 August between 00.30 to 05.30 hours to minimise viewer interruption. The subscribers may experience a blue screen or no signal following the upgrade and are hence advised to perform a hard reboot in that case.
This upgrade would help Tata Sky save bandwidth and allow it to add new channels in the future. It will also help Tata Sky better utilise its current resources. The upgrade though is not expected to result in any changes in picture, audio or signal quality.
This upgrade will be carried out in case of INSAT4A TP23 and GSAT10 TP-K7 satellites which host channels like Star Sports Select HD 1, Movies Now, Animal Planet, TLC HD World, Sony Pix, Star Sports 1 Hindi and Sony Ten 1 HD.
