TATA Sky set-top box (Facebook)
DTH operator Tata Sky in a bid to attract customers has decided to slash the prices of its High Definition (HD) and Standard Definition (SD) set top box by as much as Rs 300, Telecom Talk has reported.
The price of its HD set-top-box has been slashed from Rs 1,800 to 1,499 which translates into a price cut of Rs 301. In case of SD set top box, the price has been slashed from Rs 1,600 to Rs 1.399, which is a price cut of Rs 201.
This comes after Tata Sky had already slashed its set-top-box prices by Rs 400 from the earlier price of Rs 2,200 and Rs 2,000 respectively for HD and SD set-top-boxes.
This move brings Tata Sky at par with its major competitors like Airtel Digital TV and Dish TV. Airtel currently offers its HD set-top-box for Rs 1,453. In case of Dish TV, you can get a HD set-top-box for Rs 1,590 and SD set-top-box for Rs 1,490, making it slightly expensive as compared to Tata Sky.
