According to the latest industry trends, Indian IT major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is set to becoming the world’s third-largest software services provider in FY19 (2018-19), heralding a change in the hierarchy of the outsourcing industry that has been unchanged for two years, reports Mint.

Growing at 9.6 per cent, India’s largest IT company TCS added $1.82 billion in new business to end the financial year with total revenues of $20.91 billion.

On the other hand, DXC Technology needs to register a sequential growth of 5.06 per cent in the fourth quarter to record $20.91 billion in revenue. However, most analysts believe it is quite unlikely that the company would achieve this feat.

DXC, formed by the merger of Computer Sciences with a division of Hewlett Packard in 2017, is expected to file its fourth-quarter earnings on 23 May.

If TCS does beat DXC in revenue figures, then it would trail only International Business Machines (IBM) and Accenture in the global IT services pecking order.

It was also reported in January that TCS was now the third highest valued Information Technology (IT) services brand globally, right behind Accenture and IBM according to a new report released by Brand Finance for FY19.
