J&K DGP Dilbag SIngh
In a major testimony to the efforts of the security forces deployed in the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), the terror-related violence have fallen by around sixty per cent in 2020 so far, compared to the same period a year ago, reports Economic Times.
The period has also witnessed zero instances of major law and order violations, and stone pelting activities at the encounter sites or during the burials of terrorists neutralised by the security forces.
The positive development was shared by Director General of Police (DGP) of the UT of J&K, Dilbagh Singh who was in Delhi on Friday (14 February) to brief Union Minister Jitendra Singh about the present-day security scenario in J&K.
In his presentation to the Minister, DGP Singh also informed him that so far in 2020, 24 militants have been successfully neutralised in the region, which includes the killing of 20 militants and arrests of four others.
Furthermore, 12 terror operatives involved in grenade attacks have also been arrested along with 43 over ground workers who provide all kinds of assistance and logistical support to the militants.
