On similar lines like its Forbes 400 list of richest people in the world, Forbes has now compiled a list of the richest people in the cryptocurrency space and their estimated fortunes.
Although some of the estimates are over a huge range, the list does give an idea of the fortunes that people have made through several cryptocurrencies, or cryptos for short. Most of the people were early adopters and promoters of different cryptos, and have helped develop the cryptos to their current state.
The top ten in the list are as follows,
1. Chris Larsen, with an estimated wealth of $7.5 - $8 billion sits at the top of the list. Larsen is the cofounder of Ripple and holds 5.2 billion of its tokens. Ripple is one of the most promising among the cryptos with several big banks having shown their interest in it.
2. Joseph Lubin, with an estimated wealth of $1 - $5 billion, was the cofounder of Ethereum and is speculated to be the single largest holder of Ethers. Ether has the second highest market capitalisation following Bitcoin.
3. Changpeng Zhao, has an estimated crypto wealth of $1.1 - $2.2 billion and was the founder of Binance, which is now the biggest crypto-exchange with 6 million traders. Zhao has already shifted across three countries to stay clear of regulations on crypto exchanges.
4. The Winklevoss Twins, with estimated fortune of $900 million - $1.1 billion. Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, known for their legal suit with Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, were early investors into Bitcoin.
5. Matthew Mellon, holds a fortune worth, $900 million - $1 billion and was an early investor in Ripple.
6. Brian Armstrong, with cypto net worth of $900 million - $1 billion, is the founder of Coinbase, the most popular crypto exchange in the United States.
7. Matthew Roszak, also holds cryptos worth $900 million - $1 billion, and was an early investor in Bitcoin.
8. Anthony Di Lorio, holds cryptos worth $750 million - $1 billion and has been an early investor in multiple coins. His strategy is to get in cryptos early and cash out as they become popular.
9. Brock Pierce, with an estimated wealth of $700 million - $1 billion was an early investor in several crypto companies and exchanges.
10. Michael Novogratz, with crypto holdings between $700 million - $1 billion got into cryptos in 2013 and is also a renowned hedge fund manager otherwise.
