As a tribute for those who laid down their lives for Ram Temple in Ayodhya, a memorial has been demanded by Shiv Sena on the lines of Amar Jawan Jyoti, reports India Today.
The demand was raised by the Shiv Sena in an editorial in its mouthpiece Saamana on Friday which said, "Many were martyred for Ram Mandir. Like Amar Jawan, names of these martyrs should be written in the same way as Amar Jawan Jyoti. For these martyrs, a memorial should be built on the banks of Sarayu," the Sena wrote in Saamana.
The editorial added that tributes should be paid to workers of the Shiv Sena and other Hindu organisations who worked for Ram Mandir. "Many were martyred on the banks of Sarayu river...it was filled with blood," the Sena said.
