Indian Railways’ Tejas Express Rake (Rajendra B Aklekar/Wikimedia Commons)
In a major development, IRCTC is set to soon unveil the nation's third privatised train, which would operate between the cities of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh (UP) and Indore in Madhya Pradesh (MP), reports Livemint.
The development was made public today (1 February) by the chairman of the Railway Board Vinod Kumar Yadav, who also shared that the train would cover the distance between the two cities in an overnight fashion.
It should be noted that the third privatised train, which comes after the successful launch of IRCTC run privatised Tejas Express trains on Delhi-Lucknow and Mumbai-Ahmedabad routes, will be boasting of the rakes same as those in Humsafar Express trains.
It should also be noted that development comes merely hours after Union Finance Minister (FM) Nirmala Sitharaman had said in her Union Budget speech that the nation would soon be witnessing privatised trains operating on as many as 150 routes on the nation railways grid.
