'This Is The Last Warning': Bengal Governor Slams Mamata Govt After Custodial Death Of BJP Worker

Slamming Chief Minister (CM) Mamata Banerjee's Government over the state of law and order in West Bengal, the State's Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar yesterday (18 October) night said that he was giving "last warning" to the establishment, reports Hindustan Times.
Governor Dhankhar said, "I want to tell the chief minister to follow the Constitution. I am here to protect it. They are playing with fire. They (bureaucrats and police) cannot be political workers and shall not be allowed to be political workers. Those who are sleeping like Kumbhakarna have no idea that there is something called destiny."
Governor Dhankhar warning came after he had met with the brother of Madan Ghorai, who died on 13 October while in judicial custody of the State Police. Ghorai was a worker of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Speaking in no-holds-barred fashion, Governor Dhankhar said, "Do not think that you can stop the governor by trolling him. This is the last warning. If rule of law is not established be ready to face the music."
Meanwhile, responding to the same, CM Banerjee led Trinamool Congress (TMC)'s spokesperson Saugata Roy rued that Governor Dhankhar is 'rude' and went on to assert that Governor was "crossing his limits." He added, "If someone has died in custody, then the court and the administration is there to look into it and take steps."
The BJP has meanwhile asserted that Ghorai died because of torture by Police during the custody.
