Pakistani Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, while speaking about the situation in Jammu & Kashmir, stated that he expected a full-fledged between India and Pakistan was “likely to occur in October or in the following month,” reports Pakistan Today.

Rashid made the comments while speaking to a gathering in Rawalpindi. He called for a final “freedom struggle” in Kashmir and stated that the coming conflict with India would be the last war between the two countries.

He played down the possibility of a UN-brokered solution to the issue, remarking, The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) would have held a plebiscite in Kashmir till now if it really wanted to solve the issue. We must stand with the people of the occupied valley and I will visit Kashmir once again after Muharram.”

Taking an anti-pacifist stance on Kashmir, Rashid stated that, “Those who still think about the possibility of dialogue with India are fools.”

The minister also expressed confidence about Pakistan having China as an ally. The two countries recently signed a new agreement in Rawalpindi committing to closer defence cooperation.
