Trinamool workers on Monday (29 April) clashed with security personnel including the quick reaction force (QRF) in West Bengal’s Asansol region over Mamata Banerjee’s party insisting on polling despite the absence of central forces, ANI reports.

The incident began outside the polling booths numbered 125-129 when BJP and CPM workers protested against the absence of central forces in the voting venues.

In the video the TMC workers can be seen wielding large bamboo sticks while the police tried hard to quell the situation.

Eight Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal are going to polls today and incidents of violence are being reported from the state. As per an India Today report, an EVM was snatched away from a polling station in Dubrajpur. A crude bomb was found in a polling station in Santipur which falls under the Krishnanagar Constituency.

TMC workers have also been accused of booth capturing in various party of the constituency by the BJP candidate Kalyan Choubey.
