The Educational Testing Service (ETS), which runs the popular Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) exam, is now implementing a new round of modifications to the standardised test which are likely to benefit a large number of students, reports Hindustan Times.
The changes will allow for an increased number of test offerings for students, and they will also have to wait less before attempting to retake the test. On certain dates, students will be permitted to take the tests on afternoons, which means that test centres on these dates will effectively have double their usual capacity.
Moreover, students can now take the consecutive test as soon as the next weekend, which is also an improvement on the previous waiting time of 12 days.
“The latest improvements to the TOEFL test revolve around the student testing experience and creating efficiencies that enable them to save time so that they can act quickly,” said Executive Director of the TOEFL Program Srikant Gopal.
This set of reforms follow another set of modifications in TOEFL which were introduced last month allowing for a shortened test time, as well as the MyBest scores feature which took into account best scores of students across different sections from all their TOEFL attempts.
