With polling in Rajasthan and Telangana having commenced, poll predictions for the assembly elections held in the five states - Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Telangana and Chhattisgarh - have begun doing the rounds.

The current election exercise, lasting more than a fortnight (between 12 November and 7 December), is being seen as a precursor to the 2019 general elections. The Election Commission of India (ECI) will announce the poll results on 11 December 2018.
