The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has announced that they would be taking feedback from its consumers directly to scrutinise cable and DTH operators for following norms post-new tariff regime, the Telecom Talk reports.
The regulatory body’s new initiative focuses on bringing real-time feedback from subscribers on various parameters and regulations on the new tariff regulations which came in effect recently.
TRAI wants to engage a panel of companies all over India, who could conduct inspection and feedback on various provisions and parameters of the regime by going door-to-door to subscribers home.
The companies would help the regulator to visit consumer households under different DPOs, and check on the parameters on the TV screen alongside recording consumer feedback in physical and online forms.
The TRAI would then generate a report according to state-wise, Digital Addressable System (DAS) area-wise as notified by the broadcasting ministry (MIB) and DPO-wise. The move from the telecom regulator in the country comes after it has received various complaints against the DTH or Cable TV operators.
