Battle against instant triple talaq.
A woman from Kaushambi in Uttar Pradesh Kaushambi has claimed that her husband gave instant talaq to her over the phone in an intoxicated state, reports ANI. She then approached the police seeking justice. Rosy Begum has been married to Shohrab for seventeen years and has three children with him. She told the police that Shohrab was an alcoholic and forced her to do "illegetimate" jobs to pay for his addiction.
She said that a few days ago, she received a call from an unknown person who then handed over the phone to her husband who proceeded to utter the word 'talaq' thirce, thus calling off their marriage. She approached the Kaushambi police to file an official complaint but no action seems to have been taken so far.
