Two More Rohingya Men Killed In A Hunt Down After The Murder Of Bangladesh’s Ruling Party Official; Count Reaches Six

Continuing the hunting of refugees after the murder of a ruling party leader, Bangladesh security forces on Friday (13 September) shot down two more Rohingya men in the southern border area, reports News 18.
A youth wing official of the Awami League Party Omar Faruk was murdered allegedly by some Rohingya men. The police ever since has been conducting search operations to find the killers.
According to police offcials, the deceased men were involved with Faruk’s killing and got severely injured in an encounter with the police. They were later declared dead in a hospital.
Head of police in the border district of Cox's Bazar Masud Hossain told AFP, “They are Rohingya miscreants. They were involved in robbery, abduction and drug smuggling, and were accused of Faruk’s murder on 22 August,”
As many as six men, including these two, have been hunted down and killed for their alleged involvement in Faruk’s murder, according to AFP. The police, however, claims all of them were killed in gunfights and admitted the death toll to be at five.
Over a million Rohingya refugees live in camps in southeast Bangladesh. Most of them had fled Myanmar after the military began a genocide of the group in 2017. The situation for the people, also known as stateless people, does not seem to be improving in Bangladesh.
