Two Undercover Pakistani Spies Caught By Delhi Police Were Gathering Information On Movements Of Army Units Via Trains

The Delhi Police on Monday (1 June) revealed that the motive of the two spies, operating as officials of the Pakistan High Commission in Delhi, who had been caught and declared 'persona non grata' was to extract details of the movement of Indian Army units via trains, reports Economic Times.
For the purpose, the two Pakistani spies, Abid Hussain and Muhammad Tahir were befriending railway staffers. They were caught red-handed in the act by Delhi Police's Special Cell in Central Delhi's Karol bagh while they were obtaining sensitive documents related to Indian security installations in exchange for money. The development took place on Sunday (31 May).
During the interrogations, Hussain was learned to have operated under several fake identities. He posed as Gautam, brother of a media person, to establish contact with an individual working in the Indian Railways.
To gain the confidence of the railway staffer, Hussain had been portraying that he needed the information about rail movements of Indian Army units for a story, that his brother was supposedly doing, for which he was willing to pay.
At the time of their arrest by Delhi Police, the duo was handing over Indian currency and an iPhone for providing them the information. They had even produced fake Aadhaar cards to save their cover.
