The board examination for class 10 and 12 in Uttar Pradesh are set to start on Thursday (7 February). In view of the examinations, the state government is conducting elaborate preparations to keep a strict vigil in order to prevent cheating in the papers.

All the 8,354 examination centres in the state have reportedly been equipped with electronic devices like CCTV cameras and for the first time voice recorders have also been installed, reports Indian Express.

To keep a watch on copying mafia and activities around the sensitive examination centres, a special task force (STF) has been engaged by the government.

State Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while reviewing preparations of the board exams via video conferencing, on Saturday (2 February) warned all officials that they will be held accountable if anyone is found cheating.

“If anybody is found cheating, the DM, DIOS, principal and the examination superintendent concerned would be held responsible. CrPC section 144 is to be invoked in a 100-metre area of all centres. In all sensitive districts, the DIOS would construct a patrolling team for the inspection of the centres,” the chief minister was quoted in the report as saying.

The CM reportedly also confirmed installation of CCTV cameras and voice recording devices at all 8,354 centres.

According to the report, the state board examination will be conducted in 16 working days with the high school exams ending on 28 February, and the last intermediate exam on 2 March. The results of the examination will reportedly be declared by 30 April.
