While expressing grief, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced Rs 25 lakh and government jobs to the kin of the two Central Reserve Police Force(CRPF) jawans from the state who were martyred in the Anantnag fidayeen attack on Wednesday, reports ANI.

Soon after the announcement, Yogi had said that roads in the native towns of the martyrs will be named after them.

The two martyrs are Satyendra Kumar from Shamli and Mahesh Kushwaha from Ghazipur. The CM had instructed his ministers Suresh Rana and Neelkant Tiwari to personally attend the last rites of the martyrs.

Five CRPF men were martyred when a Pakistan-trained fidayeen lobbed grenades and fired indiscriminately from a near point-blank range on the road opening party of the force. The fidayeen was gunned down in an ensuing encounter that lasted for around 15 minutes.

As the attack happened on a main approach road to the annual Amarnath Yatra, which will commence from 1 July, serious concerns were raised over the security of pilgrims.
