After being postponed from October 2020, the UPSC Civil Services (Main) Examination was conducted a month back in January 2021.
Reportedly, the result for the Main examination will be declared in February 2021, that is, within the next five days. The Main examination consists of nine papers, all subjective. Each paper consists of close to 20 questions. Therefore, checking the copies is a formidable task which required time.
Earlier, UPSC had released the Prelims 2020 result within 20 days after conducting the exam on 4 October. The Prelims exam was also delayed from a previous date in June 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The UPSC Mains result will shortlist the candidates for the next step - the personality test or interview. The final UPSC Result is calculated based on candidates’ marks in Mains as well as the interview.
UPSC 2019 Mains result was released in pdf form with the list of the roll numbers of the successful candidates. However, prelims 2020 result pdf also contained the names of the candidates.
