The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the list of qualified candidates of the Indian Economic Service (IES) 2019 as well as Indian Statistical Service (ISS) 2019 exams yesterday.
Thirty-two candidates have been selected for the IES, while 33 candidates have been selected in the ISS. The candidates can check their results at the UPSC website, reports Aaj Tak.
Meanwhile, the result of the Mains of the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2019, conducted in September 2019 is still pending.
In 2018, when the exam occurred in the the October, the Mains results were out on 20 December. By this standard, this year, already a month has gone by after the expected date, and the results haven’t yet been released by the UPSC.
Different reasons are making rounds on social media regarding the inordinate delay. Some have blamed a pending case on the issue of the EWS category, others have cited cadre allocation for the newly designated union territories of Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh.
Those qualified in the Mains round will have to appear for the interview round. Meanwhile, the date of the prelims examination of the UPSC CSE 2020 is also nearing. In case the dates overlap, the aspirants will have to face inconvenience.
