Tirath Singh Rawat
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat on Friday (9 April) said that he will review the formation of the Char Dham Devasthanam board, which was set up to take over the administration of the temples in state by the former CM Trivendra Singh Rawat last year.
As many as 51 shrines, including Badrinath, Kedarnath, Yamunotri and Gangotri, came under the direct control of the state government after Governor Baby Rani Maurya gave her assent to the Char Dham Devsthanam Management Bill that was passed during the winter session of the Assembly in December 2019.
Ever since the passage of the bill, the local priests were opposing the setting up of the board. They also met with CM Tirath Singh Rawat over the temple takeover issue.

He also said that the state government's management over 51 prominent temples will be removed.
CM Rawat also assured of the continuation of the ancient traditions set up by Adi Guru Shankaracharya for the four Holy Himalayan Shrines of Shri Badrinath, Shri Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri.
