Visakhapatnam Cleanest In ‘A1’ Category Stations, Followed by Secunderabad

The Indian Railways has released the rankings for 'A1' and 'A' railway stations under the 'Swachh Rail Swachh Bharat' programme, Dainik Jagran reports. Here, the stations are ranked on the basis of their cleanliness. In the 'A1' category, Visakhapatnam station, Andhra Pradesh, stood first. Second was the Secunderabad station, Telangana, followed by the Jammu Tawi station in Jammu and Kashmir.

The fourth to tenth positions in the 'A1' categories were taken by the following stations respectively: Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh), Anand Vihar (New Delhi), Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Jaipur (Rajasthan), Pune (Maharashtra), and Bengaluru City (Karnataka).

In the 'A' category, it was Beas station of Amritsar, Punjab, that took the first position followed by Khammam of Telangana and Ahmednagar of Maharashtra.

A total of 75 stations were surveyed for the "A1" category rankings and 332 stations were surveyed for the "A" category rankings. The survey was conducted by the Quality Council of India and passenger feedback and third-party rankings were taken into account for the final list.

The survey included the state of cleanliness in the stations' parking area, main entrance, main platform, waiting area, open area, bathroom, and others.
