Jammu Kashmir National Congress (JKNC) leader Farooq Abdullah was heckled and shown shoes during Eid prayers in Srinagar on Wednesday (22August), Indian Express has reported.
The people present in the gathering were unhappy with Farooq Abdullah chanting Bharat Mata Ki Jai and Jai Hind while he paid tribute to late Indian prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at an all-party meeting on Monday (22 August).
Here is a video of Abdullah being heckled:
The leader was forced to leave the premises as the protesting youth disrupted the congregation with their sloganeering. As he was leaving the premises, youth shouted “shame shame” and “azaadi” and took their shoes in hands.
Farooq Abdullah had earlier described Atal Bihari Vajpayee as the “king of all people’s hearts” during Vajpayee’s prayer meeting in Delhi on Friday (17 Friday).
