Watch: Kids At Shaheen Bagh Hold Dead Infant’s Photo As Speaker Says “It Was Qurbani In Jihad”

In a shocking video that is making rounds on social media, several kids can be seen holding posters of the two-month-old baby who tragically died after being subject to the harsh weather conditions at the Shaheen Bagh venue.
In the video that has gone viral on social media, young kids can be seen holding the poster of the infant, while a man can be heard saying in the background that the death of the infant was a ‘qurbani’ (sacrifice).
He also added that this qurbani, this war, this jihad for the country, community has been prescribed by Allah in the Quran. The man further states that Allah has given us a chance to put up sacrifices for the sake of the country.
It should be noted that the two-month-old was regularly taken to the venue and fell sick due to severe cold and congestion during anti-CAA protests in Shaheen Bagh.
The baby which received much media attention with headlines like, “20-day-old baby marks fight for the future”, was said to have been frequently taken to the protest by her mother Rehana Khatoon from Batla House.
OpIndia which broke the story, after speaking with journalists present at Shaheen Bagh confirmed that the baby had indeed died and a dua too was read for her at Shaheen Bagh and Jamia Milia Islamia.
The report quotes a protester who commented on the baby’s death, “Humne thodi maara hai usuko. Allah ki bacchi thi, Allah ne apne paas bula liya. (We didn’t kill her. She was Allah’s child and Allah has called her back).
