Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday (5 September) refused to sit on a sprawling sofa kept for him during a photo session in Vladivostok, Russia and instead opted for a chair same as others, reports Times of India.

In a video posted on Twitter by Union Railways Minister Piyush Goyal, PM Modi is being welcomed by the officials at the photo session. However, when PM Modi saw the sitting arrangement with a sprawling sofa amid the chairs, he was seen opting for a chair over the sofa. Following this, the officials replaced the comfortable sofa with a chair and PM Modi took his place for the picture.

“PM Modi’s simplicity was once again on diplay today as he got the special arrangement for him removed and opted to sit on a chair along with others in Russia,” Goyal tweeted.

PM Modi was on a two-day visit to Vladivostok in Russia, where he attended the fifth Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) and also participated in twentieth India-Russia annual bilateral summit. After his two-day tour to Russia, PM Modi arrived back in New Delhi on early Friday (6 September) morning.
